Getting to Glenwood Springs
It's relatively easy to get to Glenwood Springs and the Roaring Fork Valley. Located approximately 160 miles west of Denver, visitors arrive by planes, trains and automobiles.
A scenic drive from the Denver metropolitan area through the mountains and passes provides a direct route to Glenwood Springs via Interstate 70 West. Or, if you prefer, you can take Amtrak from Denver and get a completely different view of the Colorado mountainsides. Amtrak has daily arrivals in Glenwood Springs, and the entire trip takes about eight hours.
If you're flying into Denver, you can make a connecting flight to several local airports that will get you within 40 miles, south and east of Glenwood Springs. Eagle County airport is located approximately 40 miles east of Glenwood Springs with daily commercial flights and direct service between thirteen major U.S. cities. Forty miles south of Glenwood, Aspen airport offers a choice of three airlines that operate daily, year-round scheduled service. For those flying their own craft, Glenwood Springs Airport is just south of town central and Rifle's airport is 25 miles west. You have the option of renting a car or using Colorado Mountain Express, a ground transportation company that services both Aspen and Eagle airports.
Or fly into Walker Field in Grand Junction, rent a car and head 90 miles east on I-70, straight to Glenwood.
